Electrically induced atrial tachycardia with block. A therapeutic application of permanent radiofrequency atrial pacing.

چکیده
was initially decided to induce atrial fibrillation as necessary with the use of a permanent radiofrequency-controlled atrial pacemaker. Several days after implantation of the pacemaker, however, rapid atrial pacing produced atrial tachycardia with atrioventricular block rather than atrial fibrillation. Despite this apparent failure, the ventricular rate has been adequately controlled by rapid atrial pacing for the past 9 months. Intermittent induction of atrial tachycardia with block with a permanent radiofrequency atrial pacemaker may represent a useful approach to the treatment of patients with refractory supraventricular tachycardia.

متن کاملParahisian Atrial Tachycardia: Cryoablation from the Aortic Cusp
A 29-year-old female patient with Ebstein anomaly was referred to our division for drugresistant symptomatic wide-complex tachycardia. Her preprocedural electrocardiograms showed a sinus rhythm without delta wave and a wide-complex short RP tachycardia with a rate of 150 bpm during palpitation. During conventional electrophysiologic study earliest local activation times during the tachycardia w...
متن کاملAtrial pacing during radiofrequency ablation of junctional ectopic tachycardia--a useful technique for avoiding atrioventricular bloc.
Radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) was performed on a 5-year-old boy with congenital junctional ectopic tachycardia (JET) that was refractory to medical management. Because of the lack of retrograde atrial depolarization during tachycardia, radiofrequency energy was delivered during atrial overdrive pacing to confirm the presence of preserved atrioventricular (AV) conduction. Although the ...
متن کاملAntegrade and Retrograde Decremental Conduction Properties of an Accessory Pathway Associated with the Coronary Sinus Musculature
A 32-year-old man underwent catheter ablation of an orthodromic atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia. The sinus rhythm electrocardiogram exhibited a normal PQ interval and no delta waves, but atrial pacing produced a prolonged PQ interval and wide QRS morphology with right bundle-branch block due to antegrade accessory pathway (AP) conduction. During the tachycardia, atrial double potentials ...
متن کاملIntra-atrial conduction block mimicking atrioventricular nodal block after multiple catheter ablation procedures for atrial tachycardia in a patient with cardiomyopathy.
A 42-year-old woman with a history of cardiomyopathy and multiple ablation procedures for atrial tachycardia developed intra-atrial conduction block that mimicked atrioventricular (AV) nodal block during radiofrequency ablation at the cavotricuspid isthmus. She was treated with atrial pacing (from the coronary sinus), which overcame intra-atrial conduction block and resulted in AV nodal conduct...
